We manage complex applications to the Court of Protection, including those for deputyship, statutory wills and a wide range of other applications relating to adults who lack mental capacity. The Court of Protection could be asked to determine a person’s mental capacity for a certain decision; or to compel a party to account for decisions made or actions taken on behalf of a person who lacks capacity. We act as professional deputy for many adults, where nobody else is suitable or if particular expertise is required.
Our team also sets up and manages personal injury trusts for clients who have received damages for a serious injury. Getting the right legal advice relieves the pressure of managing substantial sums of money. The extent of our advice to trustees, in dealing with their statutory obligations, reporting requirements and administrative duties, can be adjusted to suit you. We can simply advise family trustees and then step away, we can act as professional trustees and take care of all of the trustee duties, and everything in between.
