“All my training and experience has embedded the principle that commercial legal advice must be straightforward and actionable by our clients. By making sure I understand the context of each matter, my advice and/or documentation can be tailored to help clients achieve their commercial objectives with the minimum of jargon, paperwork and hold ups.
“My role with clients also benefits from working on matters with a wide variety of issues, size and complexity. Typical work that I advise on includes agreements for: agency and distribution; supply of goods and services; logistics; IT service agreements; outsourcing (with both a focus on IT and on general services) and franchising. I also advise and deliver training on the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Several times during my career I have also had the opportunity to work in-house on secondment. This provided invaluable experience and opened my eyes to the sort of information, advice and interaction that will improve and refine our offering to in-house lawyers.
“I joined Clarion in 2010 because of the challenge offered to me: to establish a commercial team delivering high quality and business focussed services. The progress we’ve made has been tremendous, doing fantastic work for great clients. Recognition by Chambers and Legal 500 (ranked only behind the ‘big six’ in Leeds) endorses the headway we’ve already made and creates a challenge to rise to in future years.”
