Matthew Mason is an Associate in our Costs & Litigation Funding Team.
Matthew began his costs drafting career at Walker Morris in 2000. Initially employed as a legal secretary to a costs draftsman, within six months he moved away from secretarial work and took on the role of a trainee costs draftsman before becoming a fully-fledged dosts draftsman. During his time at Walker Morris, he completed an ILEX course in cost drafting, receiving a distinction for the same. Matthew subsequently joined DWF LLP, working at the Leeds office initially and the Manchester office thereafter.
Whilst employed by both Walker Morris and DWF, Matthew’s workload included the preparation of Statements of Costs, formal Bills of Costs and Replies to Points of Dispute in a number of areas including RTA cases, disease claims and complex commercial matters. Matthew was also responsible for preparing Costs Budgets and Precedent R’s whilst at DWF.
