Alice Pratt from the corporate recovery team advises the liquidator

Following the liquidation of Yorkshire furniture retailer Business Dream Ltd which owns the John Peters chain of furniture shops, the assets of the business have been sold to a new company, Oak Contract Solutions Ltd. Alice Pratt in our corporate recovery team advised Mr Brooksbank, the liquidator.

Established in 2007, the Doncaster-based retailer had stores in York, Hull, Doncaster, Wakefield and Guiseley.

Chris Brooksbank of O’Hara & Co was appointed as liquidator to Business Dream on 28 October. Mr Brooksbank has been advised by Alice Pratt and Mark Hodgson of Michael Steel & Co Chartered Surveyors in the negotiations that see at least two outlets continuing to trade.

The new company, Oak Contract Solutions Limited, is headed by John Cussins, former director of Business Dreams, and plans to honour as many existing customer orders as possible.

Mr Brooksbank of O’Hara & Co commented: “John Peters has a strong reputation within the region and a solid customer base.  We are pleased to have concluded a sale so quickly, securing the future of various outlets and employment for a number of the Company’s existing staff."
