Three solicitors from our private client team have passed the latest part of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) exams and are on their way to achieving the prestigious internationally-recognised qualification.
Associates Clare King and Helen Gott both passed the Trust Administration exam which they sat in November and fellow associate Stephanie Dunderdale achieved a distinction with 82 per cent. The exam related to all elements of trust administration, both practical and theoretical, and involved months of independent study and revision.
The STEP qualification comprises a series of exams - Clare is due to complete her fourth and last exam this year and will then be fully STEP accredited.
“Congratulations to all three lawyers – the STEP exams are notoriously tough, but we believe it is a great way of demonstrating the team’s commitment to enhancing our knowledge and excellence,” comments head of Clarion’s private client team. “It will be quite an achievement to be adding so many STEP qualified lawyers to our team.”
Two other solicitors from Clarion, Lynsey Harrison and Julia Pearson, recently achieved another qualification from STEP, the Advanced Certificate in Trust Disputes. Clarion’s private client practice was also recognised in last year’s STEP Private Client Awards, being short-listed for the Regional Team of the Year.
Clarion’s growing private client team currently comprises eight dedicated lawyers who specialise in providing legal advice for older clients and their families, including wills and probate matters and tax planning as well as contentious probate.
