Property, employment and corporate teams advise the vendor.
The Hairy Lemon public house in Middlesbrough has been sold to Preston-based pub group Amber Taverns Limited. The deal sees the property on Corporation Road and its business sold by The Ladhar Group with Clarion's property, employment and corporate teams advising the vendor. The jobs of all staff at the business have been transferred to the new owner.
Michael Ladhar, director of leisure and healthcare group Ladhar, said: “Over the past two years we have taken a close look at all aspects of our business and put in place a strategy to enable us to continue to develop and expand the group. As part of this strategy we have identified sites that, although they have served us well in the past, don’t fit with our ongoing strategy. The Hairy Lemon in Middlesbrough fits into that category. We wish Amber Taverns every success with the site.”
The deal was led by from Clarion’s property team, supported by Jonathan Simms in corporate and Joanna Dodd in employment.
Mr Ladhar continues: “Clarion was recommended to us and it is the first time we have worked with the firm. They have provided high levels of service and the holistic approach across the various specialisms we needed has speeded up the process and ensured that the deal ran smoothly.”
Established over 20 years ago, The Ladhar Group employs more than 2,500 people nationwide across its leisure and healthcare operations which comprise bars, nightclubs, hotels and coffee shops, as well as nursing homes and a division supporting people with learning disabilities.
