Legal 500 - Clarion appears prominently in the 2011 results

Once again we are delighted to appear prominently in the Legal 500 results.

Clarion is delighted to once again appear prominently in the Legal 500 results.  Our prominence within the 2011 rankings confirms that we are securing our position as one of the leading independent Leeds based law firms. 

Our corporate team, which is led by Richard Moran wins plaudits from clients and peers alike for its ‘outstanding’ practice, which is ‘highly client focused’ and offers ‘good value for money’. Recent client wins include Callcredit, Centrica and Kingspan. Christian Hunt is ‘personable and easy to work with’, and ‘highly informed about legal matters’.

Our dispute resolution team, led by Simn Young, continues to be praised as it works with the likes of Grattan and Hesco Bastion.
 

The insolvency and corporate recovery team is ‘knowledgeable, and has strength in depth’, and is the highest ranked independent practice in Leeds. It continues to act for KPMG as supervisor of the CVA of Industrial and Corporate Finance. Practice head Ryan Millmore is ‘particularly good’, and David Arundel has ‘an excellent working knowledge of the industry’. 

The ‘extremely knowledgeable and proactive’  Justine Osmotherley leads our family team which are recognised as being ‘excellent, very professional’, having extensive experience drafting high-value pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements. In 2010 they took on a number of collaborative cases.

Along a similar vein the ‘excellent’ private client team at Clarion, led by Sara Rogers have had a very busy year, recently being shortlisted for the STEP 2011/201 UK and Regional Team of the Year. Clients say that the team’s response times are ‘fantastic’.

The commercial property team delivers ‘speedy and cost-effective solutions’, and is ‘commercial, pragmatic, diligent and very attentive’. Martin Grange heads the practice, which has particular expertise advising housebuilders.

Intellectual property partner, Leigh Martin, and his team continue to be instructed by major national companies including Hermes, Pace, LNT Group, and Music Sales Limited.  Having recently strengthened the team with the appointment of a new associate they continue to grow and provide an excellent and knowledgeable service.

Leigh has also provided media and entertainment advice to and acted for the BBC and Music Sales Limited, also providing legal advice on Emmerdale scripts in 2010. They also advise on publishing issues, for clients such as Barker Brooks Media.

Matthew Hattersley has developed the IT and telecoms offering, advising the likes of British Gas, Callcredit and Vocalink.
