Business professionals from across the county have been crowned the cream of the crop following their triumphant efforts in the Leeds 10K Clarion Corporate Challenge.
Over 7,000 people pounded the pavements of Leeds in the 6th Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10k on July 8th but it was sports and leisure association, HASSRA that scooped most of the glory.
The times of the three fastest runners from the 54 teams that took part were collated and the businesses with the quickest times were pronounced winners. They were;
- 1st place: HASSRA Team 1 with a collective time of 01:59:04
- 2nd place: HASSRA Team 5 with a collective time of 02:04:47
- 3rd place: Begbies Traynor Team 1 with a collective time of 02:06:36
- Kevin Hoult of Sagars was crowned fastest male to complete the 6.2mile challenge in a time of 00:36:37.
- Chloe Ryall from HASSRA Team 5 was the fastest female in the entire 10k event and Corporate Challenge, completing the course in 00:40:30.
Prior to the event, the teams met to take part in a sporting challenge where they battled it out to make their mark in the main event during a retro-style sports tournament which included games such as welly-throwing and Tug-of-War.
Marketing agency, Banana Kick, stormed to the top in the pre-event corporate evening but finished in 22nd position with a top three collective time of 02:25:32.
Mike Tomlinson and sponsor Clarion’s Senior Partner, Roger Hutton, presented trophies to the winning competitors at a reception at Clarion’s Leeds office.
“We would like to thank everyone that took part this year. The day was a great success and the atmosphere as always was electric,” said Roger.
“There is no other event that brings together such a diverse range of Yorkshire businesses from professional services and media, to engineering and the health sector. The number of organisations taking part just keeps on growing and the pre-race networking event really set the scene and got the competitive juices flowing!”
Event Director, Sara Birkinshaw, said: “Once again we had another fantastic Corporate Challenge which saw camaradarie at its best. It’s always so great to see colleagues pulling together, spurring each other on and really supporting one another and helping them to complete this tough challenge.
“Everyone seemed to have really enjoyed the challenge and our gratitude goes out to Clarion for sponsoring the event once again.”
