Business battle is set to be one of the biggest and best yet!
This year’s Clarion Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge will be one of the most fiercely-fought yet – with more than 700 businessmen and women ready to battle it out on the streets of Leeds.
The teams – from solicitors to engineers and trade unionists to journalists – are vying to be crowned the fastest firm in the city in what has become the region’s most prestigious corporate challenge.
The businessmen and women will be among a field of up to 10,000 runners taking on 10K, organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, which this year boasts a new flatter and faster route.
Roger Hutton, Senior Partner at the Corporate Challenge’s title sponsor Clarion, said: “The new flatter, faster route is proving to be very appealing as Yorkshire businesses continue to sign up for this year’s corporate challenge.
“There is always a fabulous atmosphere on race day as the competition size each other up on the starting line, and then congratulate each other on their return.
“It’s corporate competition at its best, and all for a great cause.”
Among the teams signed up for this the 7th annual event are accountants at Armstrong Watson who have fielded a team for the past six years and raised many thousands of pounds for good causes.
Andrew Byram, Business Services Manager at Armstrong Watson, said: “It’s a great challenge to be part of – we absolutely love taking part in it. The networking evening in the lead up to the run itself is always great fun, too. We’re really looking forward to it.”
Clarion Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge Event Lead Charlie Tatman said: “We’re really grateful for Clarion’s continued support of the Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge which has allowed us to establish the event as one of the major highlights of the business calendar in Yorkshire.
“This year, we’re expecting well over 700 businessmen and women to come and join us for our seventh event. We’ve got a great Cryptic Quest networking night planned, too, that will not just test their physical prowess but also their brainpower.
“The countdown is on to July 14th – we hope all our businesses are ready for it!”
The Clarion Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge takes place on Sunday 14th July. There are still a limited number of places left in the contest but companies wanting to take part are urged to move fast.
General entries for the 10K are also open.

Notes to editors:
Run For All is part of the Jane Tomlinson’s For All Events umbrella, comprising runs, walks and swims. Profits from the events go to the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, the legacy of the fundraiser and campaigner of the same name who raised £1.85m for children’s and cancer charities before her untimely death from cancer aged just 43 in 2007. She made headlines across the world by competing in a series of epic endurance challenges from the London Marathon, ironmen and triathlons, to a 4,200 mile cycle ride across the width of the USA – despite being diagnosed with incurable cancer.
Her family, through the For All Events organisation, are now on course to take that total to £5m in her memory.
