Clarion’s Banking and Finance Team were big winners last night, after they collected the Banking and Finance Law Award at the Yorkshire Legal Awards.
Held annually, and celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the Yorkshire Legal Awards bring together the region’s legal community, to recognise and celebrate its numerous achievements.
The award categories cover everyone from large corporate firms to individual solicitors, from senior partners to rising stars and represent this region’s outstanding legal talent. Clarion’s Banking and Finance Team were nominated in their category against some of the top firms in the country, which makes their victory even more impressive.
Partner Marie Pugh, who heads up Clarion’s Banking and Finance Team, said “We are delighted with our win at the Yorkshire Legal Awards, which reflects how highly our expertise in the finance sector is regarded. We have experienced rapid year-on-year growth which is testament to the team and our client base.”
Winning this award helps cap what has been a great year for Clarion’s rapidly expanding Banking and Finance practice. They started the year with a bang, when they won the Firm of the Year (Outside London) Award in the Finance category at the Legal 500 Awards.
The Team has also seen their ranking in the newly released Legal 500 UK 2020 edition jumping to a Tier 2 rating.
And the now 14-strong team has expanded quickly this year, as demand for its services has continued to grow. It is now one of the largest dedicated Banking and Finance Teams in the North, with recent additions to the team including Andrea Unwin, who joined as a Senior Associate.
Marie is delighted with how the Team is progressing. “The achievements of the Banking and Finance Team this year have been outstanding, and I’m sure we’ll see even greater things from our team as we move into 2020.”
