We have boosted our employment team with the appointment of employment tribunal expert Sarah Tahamtani as partner.

With 11 years’ experience in employment law she has extensive experience in employment tribunal advocacy and specialises in strategic workforce issues and provides solution driven advice on corporate transactions. Sarah also advises clients on senior executive severances and delivers value added, bespoke training programmes.

“Sarah has already established a reputation as a serious player in employment law and is regarded as one of the rising stars in the Leeds legal community having been recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers,” comments Richard Moran who heads Clarion’s corporate and commercial department.  “It is quite a coup to have attracted such a well-regarded employment specialist and we believe that she will complement the existing skills set of our successful team.”

Richard Port, partner in Clarion’s employment team, adds: “Our employment department is extremely busy and the addition of Sarah’s expertise will help us meet the increased demand for contentious work and continue the expansion of the team.”

“In the current climate, there is a continuing need for employers to control costs, inevitably leading to reorganisations, redundancies and pay freezes and these issues have to be balanced against the need to maintain a happy workforce in order to run a successful business.  We recognise the challenges facing employers and by strengthening our team, we will be in a stronger position to work in partnership with them to ensure that their workforce is fighting fit as we emerge from the recession.”

Sarah comments, “I am very excited to join an ambitious, forward thinking practice that has a fresh, proactive approach to providing legal services which are genuinely partner led.  I am looking forward to contributing to the development of Clarion by providing high quality, cost effective service.”

Clarion’s employment practice combines legal expertise with practical and commercial acumen to provide the best solution for clients across the full range of employment issues as new legislation comes on board.  The team advises employers on HR issues to help them develop their people at the same time as reducing risk.

Sarah Tahamtani is the eighteenth partner at Clarion’s growing practice which now comprises over 60 fee earners.
