The fastest finishers from this year’s Jane Tomlinson’s Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge were presented with winners’ trophies by sponsors, Clarion.
The first corporate team to cross the finish line was investment management company, Rensburg Sheppards. Second place went to the event sponsors Clarion and in third place was Begbies Traynor.
Fastest Corporate Challenge male and female finishers were Martin Sanders from Clarion and Emma Yates from Nexus Vehicle Management who completed the run in 34mins 51secs and 41mins and 56secs respectively.
Around 600 employees from businesses across the region took part in this year’s Corporate Challenge, which is three times the number of previous year’s, joining just over 7,000 runners who completed the city centre charity event which took place on July 4th.
Prizes will also be awarded to the companies coming in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the events Team Challenge. First place goes to Bradford City Football club, second to stockbrokers Walker Crisps Warriors and third to Leeds City College who entered a team of over 100 runners.
Mike Tomlinson who will be presenting the awards alongside Clarion said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Corporate Challenge this year. The business community has always been behind the event but this year the number of corporate runners has been overwhelming. We hope that with their support the Leeds 10K will help to raise thousands for charities across the region.”
Roger Hutton, Clarion senior partner, added: “We are proud to be the founding sponsor of the Corporate Challenge and would like to say well done to all those who took part, with a special mention to members of the Clarion team for their first-rate performance..
“It was fantastic to see such a great turnout from the business community and I urge companies to sign-up for next year’s race - it’s a great opportunity for team building as well as making a huge difference to local charities.”
By signing up to the Corporate Challenge package, which costs £500, businesses receive a range of benefits including VIP hospitality and invites to a pre-race ‘networking event’.
