Our advocates had some excellent results last week including acquittals in four trials over three days, one in the Crown Court and the others in magistrates courts around the country. The offences ranged from handling stolen goods to threats to kill.
We presently have seven Very High Costs Cases specifically contracted with the Legal Services Commission Complex Crime unit due to the size and complexity of these matters. These include allegations of boiler room fraud, mortgage fraud, VAT evasion and money laundering.
We have been in numerous police stations recently representing client’s facing various allegations including amongst others conspiracy to defraud (multi million pound), rape, S.18 G.B.H, conspiracy to supply firearms, theft by shoplifting and drunk driving and murder.
We often receive requests for cases to be transferred to us at the confiscation stage of proceedings due to our specialism in this area and last week was no exception, with several transfer requests coming through.
The success of Clarion Advocates steams ahead….
